Sir,
I am directed by the Comptroller and Auditor General to acknowledge the receipt of your letter, No. 14/98, of 24th March last on the subject of the Supreme Court Accounts of Hong Kong, and reporting examination made of various trust Accounts in accordance with the directions conveyed in the letter from this Department to you of 6th May 1892.
In expressing Sir Charles Doughty's approval of the work done by you I am to enquire whether the examination made included test of Court Deposits, as proposed in your letter No. 115 of 10th Dec. 1891.
With reference to that portion of your Report dealing with the examination of Bankrupts' Estates, the Comptroller and Auditor General has again had under consideration your letter of 25th August last on the same subject
